I thought that after receiving advice from a pharmacist, you take it and then they give you the medication you have requested. NOT at this pharmacy. They decide if you are going to follow the advice and not sell you the medication. Having used steroid cream for 50 years; a qualified teacher and by the age of 64 I’m sure that I can follow instructions and make my own decisions. Apparently they are very clued up about aggressive customers. If I spoke to a student in the way I was spoken too, I would not be in a job and certainly wouldn’t be a consultant to the DfE. They need to listen to their customers and take some objective criticism from the feedback on several feedback sites. And improve their customer service and attitude. To start with answer the phone.

Hawhurst pharmacy used to be very efficiently run until the last few months. Now it is an absolute nightmare, when I went there on 22/4/23 there were 4 people queuing OUTSIDE the door! I don’t know who is in charge but they certainly have no idea how to run a business. The female pharmacist who was there in 2022 kept a tight ship & made sure everything ran smoothly. It’s a great shame she is no longer there.

I have used this chemist for my monthly prescriptions for 11 years and the service has always been excellent. However for the past 5 or 6 months the service has deteriorated to the extent that I will never go back there again. I work for the NHS full time and it is therefore not easy to get away to collect my prescription. I attended there at 5.30 pm yesterday to join a queue of 6 people, confident that I had got there in time because they close at 6 pm. I eventually arrived at the head of the queue at 5.50 when they refused to serve me because they were closing in 10 minutes' time. I had requested the medication on Tuesday last week. This terrible service is not a one off - Since Christmas one item was completely forgotten, and on another occasion they maintained there was a nationwide shortage of another item, and on other occasions I have had to come back another day, which I have done in good fatih. This is unacceptable service and I would encourage people to go elsewhere.
