Oaklands Derby

Oaklands is a residential placement for adults requiring specialist support for their mental health needs. This includes depressive illnesses, schizophrenia and substance misuse. We also support individuals who may have alcohol or drug dependency problems or who have committed offences.

The service accommodates eight adults from the age of 18 upwards. Many of these adults may require additional support in terms of their relational and environmental security in moving back into the community.

The service is staffed 24 hours a day with all staff undergoing basic training in mental health awareness. Each individual has access to all community facilities, including general health and specialist mental health services; this may include regular contact with a community multidisciplinary team. The service looks to incorporate a specialist lead to ensure all individuals are offered support in therapeutic engagement in a variety of community activities. The aim is to facilitate skills development and progression through the care pathway to include social inclusion.

At Oaklands, we are focused on providing innovative support that puts the individual first. This enables the people we support to progress through a care pathway that fulfils their maximum potential. Through this process we are willing to assist individuals in their own accommodation via our Supporting You in East Midlands branch. This is tailored to individual needs, providing the right level of support which enables everyone to make their own choices about the support they receive.
