Burnt Tree Croft is a residential care home situated in Netherthorpe and run by Sheffcare Limited; a not-for-profit provider of excellent care. It offers a number of long-term residential care beds, with 18 for the Fundamentally Mentally Infirm (FMI).
This care home provides person-centred care through individual care plans; designed to meet each service-user’s needs and treat them with the utmost dignity and respect. The home uses a key-worker system so that each resident is assigned a dedicated member of staff.
Burnt Tree Croft organises regular entertainment and therapeutic activities, alongside Sheffcare’s activity workers and external volunteers. Activities include baking, flower arranging and chair-obics. The home organises day trips and holds fundraising and themed events throughout the year, and residents visit the nearby social clubs periodically. Visitors may visit the home at any reasonable time, without appointment, and families may join residents for freshly cooked meals, which are served in the dining rooms.
Residents may bring items of their own furniture for their rooms, which all have telephone and television points, and a carer-calling system. The communal areas are bright and friendly. There is a laundry service, and a hairdresser, doctor and chiropodist visit the homes regularly.
