The HCA’s dedication and genuine care within their limited role was clear to see. Unfortunately there were numerous staff changes which could be confusing for people with dementia and there was a definite lack of available staf. When I visited i was not always able to find anyone to help and on a number of occasions had to assist my father with getting to the toilet as he was desperate.
I certainly can not fault the kindness shown by attending HCA’s despite their struggles they always tried to help
Although I requested in writing, all my fathers records whilst he was alive on Christmas Day 2017. I also reminded the home of this in January when I collected his processions and was assured this was in hand - yet I still have not received any communications - even regarding what payment might be required. Let alone any records. I’m guessing this might be a record in itself - though not one that does them credit I’m afraid. |

Quality of care is second to none. The thoughtful, purpose build caters for all types of physical needs with the feel of a luxury hotel,
The philosophy of the staff is that it is the residents home and therefore if they want a lie in in the morning or a cup of tea during the night, they can! If they have a favourite meal, the on site chef will cook it for them. The staff are delightful and care from all staff is outstanding,
One of the key aspects is that they cater for various levels of support so unlike some homes where if health/mental capacity declines the resident has to move to another - this one enables the resident to stay amongst the staff they know if they decline..
Each floor is set out in the same way which means far less confusion should a resident require moving to a floor designated for their health needs.
It is set back from the road in a private woodland so is wonderfully peaceful and scenic. There is a courtyard with lots of seating available and even raised plots to enable residents to garden if they want. There are quiet alcoves offering a splendid view besides the communal areas available.
It really is everything you would like your loved ones to have when you cannot do it all yourself. As always the staff are invaluable in achieving this wonderful standard of care: their knowledge, compassion, understanding and gentle humour are as much for visitors of, as well as the residents.
As long as you book, you are welcome to have a meal with loved ones there - there are even separate rooms for a party if need be,
I cannot praise this residential home highly enough; the staff alone make it excellent value for money. |
