I very rarely require to see the doctor and the GP here has been my doctor for many years. I have been with this practice for 40 years back at the time when it was part of Birch surgery and I always found the service in terms of healthcare great.
But my review here focus's solely on my experiences over the past 3 months with regards getting my GP to provide an up to date status of my medical records to a life insurance provider.
The GP has had the forms from the insurance provider for nearly 3 months (13 weeks). The life insurance provider / my IFA and I have made multiple calls to the practice, each time talking to the secretaries, who each time have provided the same update, " it is with the doctor to complete" or "We have again given it to the doctor to complete"
The inability of the GP to take the time to complete what is required ( and I cannot imagine it is a huge amount of effort as my medical records are fairly easy, I have no major conditions as such) is outrageous, 13 weeks and I am still waiting ans still chasing.
The result of this has left me in a vulnerable position whereby my wife and I have no life insurance policies in place to cover our mortgage costs were something to happen to one of us and that is unacceptable.
As a GP there is not only a responsiblilty for my wellbeing but also when something like this has a profound affect on my family it is unacceptable to think this GP has had a set of paperwork on their desk for 13 weeks and is bascially ignoring it.
I have again called the surgery today and I am waiting for the Practice Manager to call me back tomorrow.
If there is no resolution I will be at the surgery on Monday and will demand to see the Doctor to have this, even if I have to book an appointment. |

Once again good service from the doctor and staff, I had treatment for the skin on my ear and was told all details of how my treatment cream would work. All cleared up in 4 weeks as told, I asked for a tele con to save time and just talk to the Doctor, all arranged as told and happy with results. I am completely happy with this surgery and in the last 5 years have had 1st class treatment from all personnel there. This applies to treatment of life changing problems and every time have come through well all down to the Doctors, Nurses and staff. I have recommended Winstree Practice many times to other people and take pride in doing so. One tiny problem is repeat prescriptions, at times there appears to be problems either with signing off the paper work or the Pharmacy as 2 weeks to get a prescription is too long. |
