I have been with this GP since I moved to the area, and my doctor has provided outstanding care every time I have been to see him. No problem is too small, and he took the time to understand my problems, and even went above and beyond in a simple diagnostic appointment to help me start a journey of recovery that has brought me into a much better place in my life. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and I have never had a bad experience! |

I have been experiencing a very painful kidney stone - I was very unclear about my options basically because my diagnosis was rather hurried and at the hospital, and so I saw a Dr about this and he was very patient and clear about the medication options and what needed to be done and my particular circumstances and what I could expect. The combination of absolute clarity and genuine willingness to listen to my probably rather ignorant anxieties and answer them clearly for me has given me genuine reassurance - I sometimes feel that doctors can understandably at times be rather keen to be rid of their patients as quickly as they reasonably can but actually that can be a false time-saving because in my case now my issues have all patiently been dealt with (and within the 10 minute consultation time) I won't need to come back for further clarification. The Dr has also set me up for different medication on what is a really painful condition for a reasonable period of time (before this I had been unsure as to how long my medication would last). Reply from Pembroke Road Surgery Mon, 07 Jan 2019 15:27:25 Z Thank you for your very kind feedback, it was gratefully received. It was a pleasure to work with you today and we all hope you make as speedy a recovery as possible. |

I’m now 70. I have been attending this surgery for twelve years. It is excellent in every aspect. Having always been healthy, it’s been a jolting experience as things start to fail and break or drop off. This practice, every person I’ve dealt with, has been helpful and, where appropriate, supportive.
They have a simple and intuitive online appointment booking and prescription renewal systems. Telephoning support staff has always always easy, to sort out particular appointments or problems. I’ve rarely waited significant times for appointments. They offer a reliable telephone GP appointment system. I’ve had the results of blood tests texted within hours of having been there!
The doctors are attentive. Some times they run late, but it’s because they care. The nurse staff are attentive and efficient.
It’s the model of what a GP practice should be. The only negative thing is the NHS post consultation text survey. It’s very clunky and unintuitive. I assume it’s foisted on them. |
