Generally, the doctors and nurses are great at what they do. My problem predominantly lies with the admin staff. I have been back and forth in communications with the admin regarding my missing COVID-19 vaccine records as a result of Student Health Service merging my 2 NHS numbers together and altering my health information without informing me prior. I have dialled 119 and have been liaising with the Vaccine Resolution Team regarding my missing vaccination records, to which they informed me that the issue should be fixed with the Student Health Service. I was told that the SHS had removed one of my NHS numbers and shifted my vaccination records. I then contacted SHS admin to relay my issue, but it’s been 2 weeks and no progress has been made. I understand that the admin receives a lot of requests daily, but waiting 2 weeks for an urgent issue and possibly longer is abominable. Throughout our communications, all I’ve received is vague communication and constant back and forth referrals. I’ve told them this issue needs to be resolved urgently as I’m graduating, leaving Bristol and travelling home. The admin staff are incompetent and have a poor understanding on issue resolution. | ||||||

I have to say that none of my visits to this student health center were great. The doctor always seem to downplay the seriousness of my illness. I had a sharp pain over my small of the back, which happened a few times with no portent. When I visited, I didn't feel the doctor did a great job on checking me on the issues, instead, I was told to get painkillers to help with that. Well, I knew that painkillers would help, but I was expecting to find out the reasons that pain occurs over and over, which I got no clue from the visit. It was the same when I had issues with my eyeballs. There was a few hours I cannot simply open my eyes, and it was pain and watery. The doctor directed to see an optician, while the optician says they cannot do eye examinations apart from fitting glass, which left me nowhere to go. Plus that the line is always busy to get through to the reception (could be up to 30mins). The doctor didn't seem to be understandable at all. It was not nice to hear that 'I don't understand your English' while insisting that it is not necessary to check my eyeballs in person. You should know that it can be difficult to concisely describe the symptoms even in your mother language. Also, it would be much better if the doctor can send the text with the appointment time included! | ||||||

I've been at the university for over eight years now and have used the health service many times during that period. I've always been able to get an appointment without much delay and the doctors and nurses have been great at their jobs. | ||||||
