Dire! It's never been a great surgery, but it gets worse and worse. Where to start with them? The reception staff and some of the doctors are combative and rude as hell. There is no consistency at all, you can call up twice and speak to two different receptionists/GPs and receive completely different advice/treatment etc. The reception staff especially act like they've been to medical school and will blame everything on the GP and the GP will blame the reception staff to avoid doing anything. Everything with them has to be a battle, from getting an appointment (and all day event!) to getting treatment or referrals. Good luck to you if they recognize your name/voice and don't want to help you, you may as well forget ever getting help! It'll take them two months to sign a simple form for you, so plan in advance if you ever need something like that done. Constant chatter and giggling in the background in reception, and I know the girls who work there play fast and loose with patient confidentiality. Their in-house rules and NICE guidelines come before listening to the patient every time. Because, you know, we don't know our own bodies and when something is wrong unless it ticks a box for them. They do not take mental health issues seriously, and pretty much tell you to get over yourself and get to the surgery if you want help. They don't take physical disability seriously, and again - tell you to get over it and find a way to get there, even if you're bed bound. They do absolutely nothing with letters from specialists, even if it includes a diagnosis, so you can forget ever seeing your health issues accurately reflected on your medical records. In-person appointments are always a minimum of 20minutes behind time. Phone appointments are worse, as you have to keep your line free for hours on end. If you've got a job or responsibilities you've got no chance of getting to see/speak with a doctor without taking a whole day off to focus on it. They've recently changed their website, so now you don't get a confirmation email on repeat prescriptions, which is a convenient way for them to excuse their admin errors. You've got a dozen options on the automated menu, but they all go to the same people in the back office, so you won't speak to anyone any quicker than on the appointment option, or speak to anyone who knows what they're doing without having to ask someone else for help. The filthy carpet in the waiting area needed replacing 10 years ago! The car park is awful. The whole place needs a well overdue top to bottom overhaul. |

Having injured my shoulder in February I saw one of the doctors who kindly referred me to the in house physiotherapist, after 3weeks of exercises I was still in debilitating pain. I then managed to get an appointment with doctor after a very unpleasant conversation with receptionist. Doctor examined me and said he would refer me to the ICAT service, he also said that things would definitely speed up if I organised and paid for a private consultation and scans. I am so disappointed as I have paid my taxes and National insurance for 50 years now and when I need the health service the only recommendation is to pay for these services privately or wait for a dreadfully long painful time to get this problem sorted. Lo and behold, I have had to pay £8500 to have this agonising pain surgically repaired within 4 weeks. Health service…..What health service! NHS doctors now recommending that you pay privately for your needs. Currently looking to change away from this dreadful medical practice. I will remain anonymous with this review as I do not want to be hunted before I register with a much better practice. |

I'm not speaking about all staff her but I've had a few encounters with the odd bad member of the group. Very rude, inconsiderate, and out of order. Being treated like I'm stupid when spoken to about my mental health which now makes me feel like I can no longer speak to them (as professionals) it's concerning as they should be the ones to go to for an issue like that. Also horrible phonecall recently regarding My child when asking for more information an guidance to some unsolved issue I've been shouted at and made to feel like it's nothing. Very sad. I know NHS staff are extremely busy coping atm with little staff but we shouldn't be treated like this. Very disappointing |
