I took eight days off this year to try and get a GP appointment. Although I did see two HCP and two Nurses they were not able to help citing that I should see a GP and when asked they refused to refer me to a GP. When I wrote expressing the difficulty in getting an appointment and informing them that I am available 24/7 in the forth coming month they did not provide one. I received a letter from the DVLA stating that my licence has been revoked as they believe I am on insulin. Having failed to provide a letter to confirm whether I am fit to drive I am trying to get the NHS to provide confirmation that I have never been prescribed insulin on an attempt that I am fit to drive. I thought by desisting in not contacting them during lock down I was doing the right thing it appears that this goodwill was not reciprocated. I now have two conditions that are poor diet related had they provided access to a dietician perhaps I would be in better health. |

Virtually impossible to obtain a routine appointment so condition becoming worse. A system appears to have been set up to prevent appointments. You ring up…immediate message about Covid that practice is not running normally, (this is Feb 2023). All appointments that day gone. Then another message saying you can only hold the line to actually speak to the receptionist if you fall into certain vulnerable groups, otherwise hang up. Go to the practice website, click on appointments, this message in bold type ‘ALL ADVANCE APPOINTMENTS ARE SUSPENDED DUE THE COVID PANDEMIC.’ Couldn’t make this stuff up. |

My experience using this practice has been very positive, all the staff have been helpful, friendly and efficient . If I have needed an emergency appointment it has always been made possible. Having type 1 diabetes it's really important to have confidence in the treatment I receive from my GP surgery and feel fortunate to get this at Maryport. Impressed with the way services have been maintained despite the financial cuts. Thank you. |
