over the last 4 years of dealing with epilepsy and my whole life having low iron and my body not producing ferritin, only once has this place been useful. they’ve messed up my prescription MANY times, failing to send controlled medication that i had to take daily for my seizures, refusing to send my iron medication and sending the wrong medicine many many times. my mum tried to make an appointment for me while i was at work as by time i was finished i wouldn’t be able to call (they would have closed by then) and she was told i was “old enough to do it myself” and if i wanted to book a blood test, i had to do it myself. over the years i have had LOADS of in advance phone and in person consultations, varying from 2 days to a few week in advance, but when i asked for one today i was told “we have never done that” and when i explained they have she said “well i don’t know who you got them from”. looking back at a year ago, my ferritin and iron level were DANGEROUSLY (as told by doctor) low, and i was told i had to book an emergency blood test. when i called up for this, the receptionist said “that’s not a cause for emergency, the doctor won’t find this serious” and was hung up on. many times during the peak of my epilepsy i was refused an appointment many times despite having 20-35 seizures daily. today i was told that they have personally (the receptionists) discontinued my iron medication as i haven’t booked a blood test (which i was trying to do) and was told i wasn’t allowed one as i haven’t been told by a gp to book one today. i have had monthly blood tests since i was 13… i am now 17. The doctors and no doubt amazing, but the reception is god awful, wether it’s pretending they are doctors themselves and telling people what is and isn’t an emergency despite a doctor saying it is, or refusing medication | ||||||

The surgery staff are always pleasant and efficient on the phone, try to help you to get an appointment that suits you. The doctors and nurse practitioners are very caring and involve you in decision making with your condition. | ||||||
