What a lovely courteous professional receptionist. A member of staff who is very clear, precise and has a very kind tone in their voice. Very welcomed by people who are not very well and a refreshing aspect to what can be, I'm sure, a difficult job at times. Well done for setting a new standard and restoring faith in doctors receptionists. Bravo. |

This medical centre is superb ; the GP's ; the nursing staff ; the reception staff are all excellent ; I couldn't wish for anything better ; however ; once I move out of this place of excellence into hospital appointments and especially into the mad world of Choose and Book , the picture changes dramatically.
Not for the first time I feel badly let down by the NHS . My GP referred me to hospital via the choose and book system and I chose St. Oswalds hospital (gastroenterology ) in Ashbourne ; they couldn't offer me an appointment and 36 days later I still haven't been offered a date.
I was contacted by the NHS two weeks ago asking me if I would like to change my appointment from St. Oswalds to the Derby Royal but with still no offer of a date ; I declined.
This experience leads me to ask the following questions:
* Why can't I get a date for an appointment , no matter how far into the future it is ?
* Why does the NHS want Ashbourne residents to use the Derby hospital rather than the Ashbourne hospital ?
* Why don't the consultants want to come out to the "sticks" ; is it because they are too busy looking after their private patients ? |

Both myself and my husband use the practice and have always been happy with the service and care we have received. All the Drs and the Staff are helpful and caring and do their best to accommodate our needs. I would also praise the out of hours service and the walk-in service at St Oswalds Hospital, which we have used this morning! A great service which appears to be well used. I do feel it could be better publicised as I know of several people who could have made good use of this facility, saving them a journey to A&E in Derby. We have no complaints with regard to the practice services. Many thanks Reply from DRS MACLEOD, CURRY, WARD AND VOSE Mon, 23 Feb 2015 15:11:34 Z Thank you for your feedback. We will forward your comment on to DCHS to ask them to publicise the out of hour's service and the walk-in service at St Oswald's more widely. |
