Having filled in the online form for a consultation I was referred to the pharmacist who spoke to me over the phone (!) and declared with certainty that no treatment was needed. My symptoms worsened and after a few days I filled the online form again. This time I waited for a week (!) for a phone call and a subsequent appointment. I was seen by a dismissive, incompetent young lady, who - without as much as a glance into my medical history - sent me home with no treatment. By then, I was in the third week of severe infection and feeling worse by day. Over the weekend, with no medications prescribed, my symptoms worsened again and I had to fill in the online form yet again to ask for help. This time I was lucky to speak to the wonderful Andrea Hodges and was finally prescribed medication. Due to the idiotic online forms system, poor triaging and dismissive attitude of the young GP, my condition is now much worse than it would have been if I had been treated when I first asked for help and I don't know how much longer it will be before I recover fully. Appalling! |

The service provided by this surgery is overall poor. They don't allow appointments to be booked now, and diary management is horrendous. If you don't work and have lots of spare time to sit around waiting for someone to answer the phone, there are same day appointments but they prefer to make life difficult by not offering a diary system. Just had to do a ridiculous questionnaire online to try and get to speak to someone, asking endless irrelevant questions even though you've stated over and over again what the problem is. My advice is get a decent Practice Manager in. |

The practice has never made our family aware that we can book appointments or get repeat prescription online. The first I heard was reading the reviews for GP practices here.
The diary system is dreadful still, although it has improved in the last 6 months. If you want a specific doctor for a reason, and they have the next 3 weeks booked or they have some holiday time, its impossible as you cant book further in advance than that. The specialist doctors are always booked up. I say specialist, I mean the ones that have history of interest or training/ experience in your needed area. They could do with a couple more really.
Whilst waiting times at the surgery, for your appointment has improved dramatically the time you have with the GP is still too short. I know that is the NHS allotted times, but a couple more minutes may make a difference in knowing the patient. |
